Homeschool. Parenting. Life. It can be a lot to juggle. You hear people talk about finding joy in the journey, but you're just trying to survive one day at a time.
I take a holistic approach to coaching because You don't live in a vacuum!
What if I told you there was a better way?
You don't have to go through your homeschool/parenting journey feeling overwhelmed, stressed out, exhausted and frustrated. It's not your kids' fault. You know you shouldn't resent them. But maybe sometimes, deep down inside, you do a little. Why is parenting and homeschooling so hard?!
I believe home education is simply an extension and enhancement of parenting. Being with your kids 24/7 doesn't make all the parenting frustrations go away just like marrying someone doesn't make all the relationship flaws go away. It only magnifies what was already there.
But there is a way to homeschool (and parent) in a way that is fulfilling and rewarding for both you AND your kids. You can have deep, meaningful connection with your kids, confidence and peace in your homeschool! It's not a fairytale. it can be your reality.
"Education is not the filling of a bucket, but the lighting of a fire." ~Plutarch
How curriculum doesn't build your confidence
Buying more books for your homeschool doesn't bring connection and confidence. Contrary to what some may say, throwing more money [or books] at the issue won't make it disappear.
Often times, homeschoolers don't even know what their homeschool goal is before spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on curriculum. They bring home their stacks of books and then don't finish them because it's boring or not working for the family's needs. Or they push through to finish the curriculum, kids resisting and protesting the whole way while Mom shouts, "Just get it done so we can move on with life!!" or worse, "If you don't do this, I'll just have to send you to public school!"
This is not the picture of "lifelong love of learning" you hope to cultivate in our kids. But I've been guilty of it, too.

Susan Martin was homeschooled for most of her education and began her own home education journey with her children as a single parent. She is in her 8th year of homeschooling. Now married to her ridiculously young looking husband, she has a blended family with 5 kids ages 1-19. Susan is right in the thick of it with all the stages at once (from breastfeeding to busting outta the nest)! She is a coach, people connector and passionate communicator of both written and spoken words. She is trained in Emotional Freedom Technique, NLP, Hypnotherapy, Biblical coaching, Trauma Informed Parenting, and Positive Psychology Coaching.
Susan has helped organize a homeschool co-op, homeschool prom & is an American Heritage Girls Troop Coordinator. She compassionately guides other homeschool moms in their homeschool journey. But her most important role is still found in educating her own children and inspiring them to embrace lifelong love of learning and to pursue their gifts while overcoming traumas and neurospicy challenges.
